Barrow Playgroup

We are an Ofsted registered Pre-School Playgroup for 2-4 year olds, based in the Methodist Church Hall in Barrow Upon Soar. Established in 1971, we are a charity run by a management committee made up of elected parents and staff.

Our Playgroup is an inclusive and friendly setting. We provide a warm and caring environment where children are encouraged to reach their potential by learning and exploring through play.

We offer a range of creative and inspiring learning opportunities, which foster the interests of the children. Our passionate and enthusiastic staff treat all children as individuals, supporting their different needs and development.

We provide funded places for two, three- and four-year olds. We are open Monday to Friday during term time. Children who stay all day bring a packed lunch.

Our Ethos

We aim to provide a safe and stimulating environment where children learn through play to reach their full potential.

We are sensitive to the children’s individual needs and allow them to develop at their own pace. We strongly believe in celebrating every child’s strengths, personal qualities and everything that makes them unique.

It is so important to us that every child feels happy, secure and confident. Staff are warm and caring and take the time to get to know every child, nurturing their emotional wellbeing.

We aim to promote curiosity and exploration through our child led learning opportunities. Throughout each session, we always support children’s current interests, fascinations and ideas, and respond to their needs and next steps.
